125cc motorcycle permit

PRICE: €180

Drivers in possession of a valid Maltese car driving license may apply for the 125cc Motorcycle Course. This is a course of 10 hours: 7.5hrs practical lessons and 2.5hrs theory. All practical lessons are carried out on one-to-one basis and conducted at a time of your choice.

CONDITIONS

Motorcycle capacity must not be more than 125cc and not exceed 11 kW. Also, power to weight ratio must not exceed 0.1 kW/kg

You can choose to learn on an AUTOMATIC or a MANUAL motorcycle.  However, if you complete this course with an automatic motorcycle, you will only be allowed to drive an automatic motorcycle. If you choose to do your training on a manual motorcycle, you will be allowed to drive manual, semi-automatic and automatic motorcycles.

You cannot carry a pillion. This permit is only valid to drive in Malta and Gozo.

category a licences

Category A1

Any person over 18 years can apply for the Category A1 license to drive motorcycles with a cylinder capacity not exceeding 125 cubic centimetres, of a power not exceeding 11 kW and with a power/weight ratio not exceeding 0.1 kW/kg AND Motor tricycles with a power not exceeding 15 kW.

Category A2

Any person over 20 years can apply for the Category A2 to drive motorcycles of a power not exceeding 35 kW and with a power/weight ration not exceeding 0.2 kW/kg and not derived from a vehicle of more than double its power.

Category A

Any person of 22 years of age and with at least 2 years experience in A2; or at least 24 years of age can apply for the Category A to drive any motorcycle and motor tricycles with a power exceeding 15 kW.

practical test

Our experienced instructors will prepare you for the final practical test. Most of the lessons will be a simulation of the test itself. Our aim is to help you get your licence on your first try.

The practical test consists of two parts. The first part consist of 8 exercises, including slow manoeuvres and braking exercises. The second part would be conducted on the road.
